This will be a new feature on the site. I
thought that you might like to know a little bit more about the process of
changing a vintage item to a new one.
I will try and explain all that goes into my creations.
What kind of ideas I have as I shop for the raw materials. What twists and
turns my imagination goes through as all of the parts of the creation come
together first in my mind and then in reality.
I’m currently working on a light weight coat
for a client. I don’t normally do coats but the idea was interesting and the
material requested was different. The client wanted a chenille coat with a
peacock on the back in vintage material or in other words a chenille quilt.
Since I have never seen a chenille quilt with a
peacock on it I doubted that I could even find one. But to my surprise several
weeks later while at the local flea market I found one with not one peacock but
two in the center of the quilt.
After more detail discussions with the client
I began thinking about how I was going to begin and complete the project. This
thinking period can last several hours to several days. You can’t control the
time, your mind has to mull over all the parts before you can make a plan and
begin.
